Let us get deeper into what has been one of the
most controversial themes of all time.
Many may wonder how there can be such an
association between Masturbation and Meditation, two things that theoretically
do not match. But I'll show you that
they can match perfectly!
Before actually entering into this subject, it
is important to analyze how human sexuality has become so unbalanced with the
advent of pornography. As I have
discussed in previous texts, it is not to say that pornography is something
that is not useful and cannot be used to help, rather than
"destabilize" the whole universe of human sexuality. But the fact is, over the years pornography
has become a manipulation tool, much more than a tool for enlightenment and
help.
Nina Hartley has become world-renowned for her
"Guide to" tutorial videos, teaching new ways of relating sexually,
teaching the best ways to practice oral sex, anal sex, swinging sex, all done giving
the necessary importance on having a lot of respect with their partner and that
all of this should be practiced with consent and complicity, as long as
partners feel confident in experiencing such sexual variations.
The 80's was marked by a "pre-viagra"
generation that was concerned to show society that sex could be something much
more fun and enjoyable. Unfortunately,
over time, and the advent of sexually transmitted diseases, this needed to be
reviewed. Pornography sought to teach
people how to protect themselves by using latex condoms to prevent themselves from
such diseases and thus get sexually entertained in a more responsible way.
As this activity became more
"corporate" and less amateurish, the whole thing was changing its
shape, and it acquired more "manipulative" contours, geared much more
to easy profit than to something "to the service of society".
In the "post-viagra" era, things started
to become more "spectacular". Suddenly
it seemed that relating sexually was almost impossible for poor mortals. And the whole thing became more juggling, more
aggressive, less respectful, much less concerned with helping and making sexuality
more pleasurable. It was all becoming
more stupid, more unbelievable, more rude, much riskier.
So you may ask: but what does all this have to
do with Masturbation, or even with Meditation? With Meditation, nothing of course! But with Masturbation, everything!
Unfortunately, for the vast majority of
adolescents in the hormonal and sexual development stages, pornography has
always been the main source of information, since parents have always only
bothered to tell their children about the precautions they should take to avoid
contracting illness, and never entered into a full conversation about sexuality
in a more comprehensive way. Also, they
themselves came from repressive sex educations, so for the vast majority of
parents, talking about sex has always been very embarrassing.
The traditional masturbation model has always
been conditioned to make use of erotic stimulants, such as porn movies, men's
magazines with naked women and things like that. And for the adolescent without further
instructions from a mature adult and ready to give him better information,
pornographic films have always been the sexual behavior pattern.
Therefore, for the "post-viagra"
generation, this has generated enormous distortions, because even when watching
these more "sensational and juggling" films, sexual relationships
seemed to be an almost impossible mission!
But how has this been affecting our
masturbatory habits?
A pornographic film has a monstrous erotic
charge, a power of excitement that is hypnotic and addictive, like a
hallucinogenic drug. For a teenager at a
character-forming age and physiology, this has a devastating and destructive
effect. That is why we have so many
cases of men today who suffer from premature ejaculation, erectile
dysfunctions, anorgasmy, among other dysfunctions generated by exposure to
addiction in pornography. Not counting
those who simply decide to give in to addiction, and simply do not have sexual
relationships to another partner.
The truth is that when a person masturbates
using a visual sexual stimulant like these, it makes the act totally mechanical,
where the genital may even become insensitive to manual stimulation over time,
generating even greater problems than those previously reported. The person is not focused on the pleasure of
his own body, but rather on relieving the excitatory charge caused by that
sexual stimulation generated by pornography.
It is at this point that Tantra proposes a
"re-educative" form of masturbation, where this excitation will be
sought in its own body, not in external erotic stimulations.
The naked body, as discussed in previous texts,
can be a source of sexual stimulation, if we can balance our masculine and
feminine energies, overcome the prejudices injected into our head by society,
and lose the modesty of admiring our naked body. In addition, by focusing our attention on our
body and creating the habit of "relating" sexually to ourselves, how
we might relate to an outside person, we are opening up to feel all the
sensations of our own touch, and it is from opening up to feel that we will be
transforming the act of masturbation into a meditative activity.
Can you understand this association now? Forget everything, create an intimate and
enjoyable environment for yourself. Leave
the environment in the mid-light, use a relaxing song if you wish. You can even make use of incense to work more
pleasant and relaxing odors. All to make
the environment lighter, and with a softer energy. Then take off all your clothes, stand
comfortably on the bed, on the couch, or even stand up and go exploring all
over... I mean ALL OVER! The extension
of your body. Do not restrict the
genitals. Consider that the full extent
of your skin is a huge genital to be explored. That way you'll be opening up to forms of
orgasm that you never even imagined to be possible.
Finally, touch your genitals. Be gentle with it. Do not be in a hurry to get excited, just
touch yourself. Gradually you will
realize that your genital will always respond to the subtle and tender touch of
your hands, without the need to use erectile-stimulating medications. But touch yourself gently, without haste. Have a slow and loving massage. Do not rush to climax! Enjoy the time. Live the experience! This is making love to yourself. Meditation is found in observing the
sensations that this provokes, in knowing oneself and opening oneself to
feeling. The pleasure will be so intense
that you will not be able to think of anything else!
Over time, and with the habit, you will notice
that your body begins to develop a sensitivity that you never thought possible
to be developed. You will open yourself
to new and even more intense levels of enjoyment. And your sex life will become fuller and more
fulfilling.
Nobody needs porn movies to make love to
themselves! Get rid of it.
